Houston Restaurant Owner Charged in 2020 Explosion at Business Partner’s Bar

Lyndell Price and two others face up to 25 years in prison for alleged arson plot

Houston, TX – Federal prosecutors have indicted Lyndell Price, a well-known Houston restaurateur, in connection with a 2020 explosion and fire at Bar 5015, a bar owned by his former business partner. Price, 42, is charged alongside Armani Williams, 27, and John Lee Price, 39.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that the trio faces charges of conspiracy to commit arson and arson, both of which carry penalties of up to 25 years in prison. Lyndell and John Price also face an additional charge of conspiracy to use an interstate facility to commit arson of a vehicle, which could add another five years if convicted.

Bar 5015 Explosion: What Happened?

According to federal court documents, the incident occurred on June 12, 2020, when Williams and an unidentified co-conspirator allegedly purchased gasoline, cans, and face masks at a local truck stop. Surveillance footage and phone records suggest they poured gasoline on Bar 5015’s deck and entrance ramp, then lit a piece of paper to start the fire.

Prosecutors claim the fire triggered an explosion, scattering debris and igniting several smaller fires. Williams allegedly called Lyndell Price shortly after to confirm the arson was complete.

More Alleged Crimes Unfold

The indictment also links Lyndell Price to another arson plot — the burning of a 1975 Chevy Nova, reportedly stolen from a Houston auto shop. John Price and others were allegedly paid to carry it out.

Defendants Appear in Court

All three suspects made a court appearance on Friday and were released pending future court dates. Letitia Quinones-Hollins, attorney for John Price, stated to local media: “This is a classic example of being very mindful of the company you keep.”

She clarified that John and Lyndell Price are not related, despite sharing the same last name.

No attorney statements have been made public for Lyndell Price or Armani Williams as of Friday.
